What it was
As AI assistants became the default way people find answers online, businesses that had spent years optimizing for Google started losing traffic overnight. Quoto addresses this shift: instead of traditional SEO, it generates content structured around the signals that language models use when selecting sources to cite. The platform analyzes a business, builds a content strategy, and produces ready-to-publish articles at scale — automating everything from topic selection to final copy.
My role
Built and shipped end-to-end — product, design, and engineering. Designed the content generation pipeline, integrated Stripe for subscriptions, and handled the full production rollout.
What I learned
The hardest part wasn’t building the product — it was selling a problem that most businesses hadn’t yet named. Companies knew they were losing traffic but hadn’t connected it to AI platforms replacing search. A lot of early sales conversations were spent making the diagnosis before I could offer the solution.
The other thing: content quality at scale is a distribution problem, not a generation problem. AI can produce good articles. The bottleneck is deciding what to write about, for which audience, in which order — and that strategy layer is where most of the actual value sits.
